FAQ

What can I expect from the experience?
We begin by analyzing what you are currently doing during the dating experience. We then examine the dating feedback and results you have received, come up with new ways to approach dating and dates, try these ideas, and look for positive results. If the suggestions are not satisfactory, we can review your dating and try a new variation.

How does the process work?
That depends on you and your individual needs. A ‘typical’ process includes an application submission; an initial consultation; and a set of activities and/or ‘real world’ practice sessions defined to help you achieve your goals.

Are you a matchmaking service?
Date coaching is not a matchmaking service – we do not maintain a ‘catalogue’ of potential matches. All clients are asked to register and actively monitor a new or existing profile on one of the many online introduction services.

Are your services guaranteed?
We cannot guarantee that any given client will find a life-long romantic partner, or that she or he will have a completely full calendar, but we can help all clients enjoy and be more deliberate with the dating process.

How much does it cost?
Application review and feedback is provided at no charge. The initial in-person consultation is $199; subsequent activities and/or meetings range from $100-150 per hour (outlined in advance). An alternative to the hourly charge is a coaching package; details are explained under the ‘Professional Services’ tab.

Can you help me start dating again after a divorce?
Absolutely!

Is my information confidential?
Always. You determine what is disclosed or not disclosed in any practice session. If it makes you feel more comfortable, the Date Doctor can provide a mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

Do you offer coaching over the phone?
Because of the personal and behavior-oriented nature of Date Doctor services, at this time we only provide phone consulting to those who have had previous in-person consultations.

How is date coaching different from therapy or counseling?
The Date Doctor approach addresses verbal and nonverbal behaviors along with cause-and-effect patterns. Clients expressing deep emotional and/or other mental health-related issues are referred to other types of professional support.

Can I try one appointment to see what it's about? (Do you offer intro session at reduced fee?)
Currently there are no options for reduced or trial rates – although application reviews and feedback are always provided at no charge. In rare situations, there may be opportunities to participate in a research study, in which participants may receive coaching in exchange for permission to publish their stories (anonymously).

How do you arrive at your recommendations?
Recommendations are primarily data-driven; in other words, suggestions are backed by rigorously tested, statistically significant sets of aggregate data from academic literature. Unlike pop culture publications, academic studies undergo significant peer scrutiny and other gauntlet-styled reviews before they are published.
