Why
Dating can – and should – be the most fun activity there is! Not every date is a ‘love connection,’ sure, but what other activity allows you to learn so much – to try so much – and ultimately to just enjoy yourself as much as dating does? Through dating we connect with other people, try new things, and discover more about ourselves.
Too often, however, people see dating as a struggle and get frustrated, especially those who are newly returned to the scene or have been at it for a long time with minimal results. We continue behaviors and patterns that aren’t successful, and when they once again don’t work, mentally throw our hands up and bemoan the fact that ‘there aren’t any good ones out there,’ or ‘I can’t meet anyone,’ or any number of other laments.
What
The goal of date coaching is to help you develop and pursue a plan of action that allows you to enjoy dating and pursue your unique needs. No two ‘programs’ are alike – while some clients are interested in finding that special relationship, others just want to ‘get out there’ – and each objective requires a targeted approach.
How
Backed by decades of academic research, the Date Doctor approach explores the cause-and- effect patterns in clients’ dating histories and isolate specific desired behaviors and objectives for each individual. Think of it as a safe laboratory, or guided field research. Through coaching and out-in-the-real-world practice sessions, we experiment with new actions and provide feedback along the way. All recommendations are data-driven, based on findings from rigorously tested, statistically significant studies.
A key part of the process is setting realistic expectations and reframing the entire definition of 'dating'. Dating is enjoyable in its own right – and yet we put pressure on ourselves, wondering whether the next date will be ‘the one.’ The Date Doctor approach concentrates on getting as much as you can from THIS one - without the stress of trying to force THE one.
Please note that date coaching is not a matchmaking service. All clients are asked to register and actively monitor a new or existing profile on one of the many online introduction services.
